Episode 4: How the Math Works

Here is the transcript for the video:

(0:00) This is the episode where I show you the math because when I say that the benefit costs less as employees learn more, that sounds like marketing, but it's really not. It's just arithmetic. (0:09) So, so let's go through it. You're going to pay a flat price per employee per month for a well. Call it $25, so $300 a year for one employee. (0:18) Every course that employee completes is educational assistance excluded from their wages. (0:23) Excluded wages are outside the payroll tax base. (0:26) And the payroll tax you pay for every employee is 7.65% for for those employees earning under the Social Security wage base. (0:33) So every dollar of education your employee completes takes about 7 12 cents off of your tax bill. (0:41) Every course that they complete within our platform carries a value that is set before anyone takes the course. (0:48) That value is not set by us, not set by our company, but actually it's set under an independent valuation standard tied to a real market comparables for that course. (0:58) When an employee completes the course and passes the assessment, that predetermined value is the educational assistance excluded from their wages. (1:07) So, if no courses are completed, you're going to pay the full $300 and get nothing back. (1:12) If an employee completes roughly one course a month, then your net cost is going to go down to roughly only $117 because of your payroll tax savings received. (1:20) And when they complete around one and a third courses per month, you're going to break even on that cost. (1:26) Now, think about those employees that are like power users and they're going to hit the full annual limit. (1:30) You're going to come out way ahead financially. (1:34) And and don't worry, our team is going to be by you and your employees side by side every month, really encouraging them to engage and use the platform and complete the courses. (1:43) So, you're always going to come out ahead financially. (1:46) This is the whole mechanism that makes AEL well the only employee benefit where your cost truly does go down as your employees use the benefit. (1:53) Reach out to our team today so we can talk about how this is going to help your organization.
